Its a fun game and has lots of potential.
Unfortunately with such a steep learning curve and stupid AI, youre pretty much forced to buy gems.
Also the heroes are pretty unbalanced.
Youd take crusader for tanking and healing, sand queen for the summon and huge aoe immobilize and the shade countess for huge ranged damage (or soultaker for the stun, but you wouldnt need the stun as much with the sand queen summon).
Since the soultaker, crusader and sand queen are all starting characters, you start off with your main team. The unfortunate thing is that while you control one hero, the other 2 heroes go and get slaughtered because they waste the abilities on minions.
Another issue is that you cant switch heroes after activating an ability. The sunbirds ult is basically become completely invuln for 10 seconds or so, completely heal then damage at the end. Id like to be able to control the other heroes in the middle of this, wasting a lot of time and I might be forced to watch an ally die.
Furthermore, after using an ability, the target resets to the nearest enemy, usually a minion and forces you to attack the minion. It becomes really annoying to target heroes because it keeps forcing me to target minions.
More issues that I have, very little variance. You have 2 maps, straight or split (split is a horrid idea considering the bad micro possibilities. You cant switch between heroes enough.) and either defend or destroy a source.
Later on, enemies will gain 10 levels by the end of a match which will be ridiculous to overcome without sufficient gems for equipment upgrades and power ups.
There should be a way to get gyms from gold, like 1k gold for 5 gems or something. I had 5k goldstored up with nothing to purchase (bought all equipment and sunbird).
While I would buy gems, at the cost of the gems and considering the other issues, its not worth it. I dont see my enjoyment increasing radically with gems. Id consider purchasing if my issues are fixed.
